So… it’s been a while since I shared any news, mainly because this pandemic-thing happened and every day was like every next day. And it was all a bit shit. But a gleaming ray of happy light that has come out of it is my podcast! Namaste Motherfuckers – the first podcast where the worlds of comedy, self-help and business collide. Guests so far include: Richard Osman, Desiree Burch, Arthur Smith, Matt Forde, Oliver Burkeman, Emily Dean – with a brand new episode out every Monday. Worked with the brilliantly talented Matt Crockett on this year’s Edinburgh shoot – you can see some of the results in the gallery here on the site, and one of my faves below. Amazing what you can do with a coat hanger, a suit jacket & an acceptance that this is the closest you might ever come to love…
This year’s Edinburgh show has its new and final name, and it’s called… Invisible. A menopausal take on #MeToo, the show is an unflinching and gag-rich insight into life at an age when the world ghosts you. I’ll be at the Assembly Rooms for the Edinburgh Fringe throughout August, and touring it as a work in progress show around the UK between now and then. All details on the ‘LIVE’ page of the site. Come!
Doing a mini tour of festivals with new show Adult-ery as it takes shape for Edinburgh 2019:
- Hull Comedy Festival: 8th November 2018
- Vault Festival, London: 27th January 2019
- Leicester Comedy Festival: 17th February 2019
- Brighton Fringe: 7th, 23rd & 24th May 2019
Next year’s Edinburgh show is in the works – Invisible – a laugh-laden, unflinching look at the business of being an adult. The story takes place in Iceland – the country, not the shop – where I had an unexpected brush with death…
I’ll be previewing it up and down the land with London shows at 2 Northdown coming up on 23 October and 11 November.
